Future-proof infrastructure for AI compute, in Switzerland.

We acquire, permit and develop AI datacenter sites across Switzerland — adjacent to long-duration power, held within one of the world’s most stable jurisdictions.

Thesis

The next decade of AI will be limited not by chips, but by the land and power beneath it.

01

Compute moves toward power.

Hyperscale AI workloads are no longer constrained by silicon — they are constrained by the gigawatt. Sites adjacent to secured, long-duration generation become permanent.

02

Switzerland is a power adjacency.

The country generates a structural power surplus from assets that predate the AI era. The grid is dense, redundant, and the conditions to operate compute at scale are unusually favourable.

03

Sovereignty is becoming infrastructure.

Hyperscalers, frontier labs and their capital partners increasingly need jurisdictions that will outlast their roadmaps. Swiss federal stability is now a hard asset.

04

Discretion is part of the product.

We originate off-market and operate quietly. The kind of capital and tenants we serve require privacy more than press — and we deliver it as a matter of practice.

The window

Sites with the right combination of power and jurisdiction are finite, and being permitted now. Alpen exists to source them — quietly, completely, and at scale.

Approach

A four-stage process, repeated per site — from valley floor to first watt.

01
Origination
Off-market acquisition of brownfield and greenfield sites in the Swiss cantons most suited to long-duration AI workloads.
02
Power & permitting
Long-term power agreements with cantonal utilities. Federal and cantonal permitting executed in parallel — environmental, grid interconnect, building.
03
Build
Modular hall design with direct-to-chip liquid cooling from day one. Construction partners chosen per canton; phased ramp by tenant load.
04
Operate or hand over
We operate to spec, or hand over fully permitted, powered shells under long-term lease. Optionality preserved for both hyperscalers and AI labs.

Standards

What we build to — on every site, without exception.

S·01
Power adjacency
Every site is co-located with secured, long-duration generation. We do not build where we cannot guarantee the next decade of supply.
S·02
Liquid by default
Halls are designed from day one for direct-to-chip and immersion cooling — never retrofitted from air.
S·03
Modular halls
Engineered to host high-density racks; phased ramp matched to tenant workload rather than nameplate.
S·04
Diverse connectivity
Two independent fiber paths from every site to the major European internet exchanges. No single point of failure.
S·05
Sovereign by lease
Swiss data residency is a contractual default, not a promise. Federal jurisdiction over every kilowatt and every byte.
Team

Operators who have done
this before — at scale, in this part of the world.

Co-founder · CEO
Léa Rütimann

Former head of land origination at a European hyperscaler. Permitted gigawatts of compute across four jurisdictions.

Co-founder · Sites
Andreas Bauer

Two decades across Swiss power and grid. Built and operated cantonal power assets at scale.

Capital & Partnerships
Sofia Cattaneo

Project finance across European infrastructure — data, energy, transport. Closed multi-billion euro debt and equity.

Engineering Lead
Daniel Frei

Liquid-cooled hall design from first principles. Led the first immersion deployment at scale in the DACH region.
